Welcome to Masters of the Telecaster Guitar Camp!

The Telecaster is the iconic electric guitar. Its history is part and parcel with much of the greatest modern American roots music, a connecting point between country, rock n’ roll, blues, Western swing, and jazz.

A man sitting on a stone wall playing an electric guitar outdoors near a pond with a fountain. Trees and a grassy area are in the background, with hills in the distance.

We’ll cover all of it across four days and nights at Full Moon Resort in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, offering 100+ acres of fields, meadows and mountain streams - featuring country-inn style guest rooms, luxury cottages, glamping, gourmet dining, beautiful barns, the rustically splendid rock n’ roll Roadhouse.. and the state-of-the-art Moondance Pavilion, home to scores of magical performances at the Music Masters Collective.

Musical performance at the Music Masters Collective with three musicians playing guitars and what appears to be a keyboard, on a small stage in front of an audience seated in chairs inside a wooden venue.

You’ll be face to face with some of the best “Tele” players on the planet. They’ve played with The Band, Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Elton John, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, The Hellecasters, Asleep at The Wheel and more.  Classes and concerts will touch on iconic players such as Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, Steve Cropper, Robbie Robertson, Roy Nichols, Ted Greene, and Eldon Shamblin.

Here’s the line up for Masters of the Telecaster 2026!

Brent Mason!  Daniel Donato!  Redd Volkaert!  Johnny Hiland! Larry Campbell!  G.E.Smith!  Duke Levine! Bill Kirchen! Carolyn Wonderland! Cindy Cashdollar!... and your hosts, Jim Weider and Joel Harrison.

Between these world famous artists you’ll be exposed to the highest level of artistry, whether studio tricks, hybrid picking, all out rock n’ roll, pedal steel licks new chords, and blues. You’ll work on rhythm chops, tone, ensemble playing, and, for those interested, mixing jazz elements with blues, rock n’ roll and country.  We’re looking not just to the past but to the future of guitar, the goal being your own unique blend. You’ll meet an array of fellow pickers and develop lifelong associations at our nighttime interactive jam sessions… and just hangin’ out with this wonderful community of guitar enthusiasts.

ALL WELCOMED!

Indoor music performance at a rustic wooden venue with audience seated and standing, stage with band playing instruments, large paper lanterns hanging from ceiling.

All levels of players are encouraged to attend, and learn from and play with these grand masters. We’ll have something for everyone.  If you’re not a player, but simply a lover of great music, bring your good spirit!  This event will be not only highly informative and educational – but lots of great fun.

Note:

YOU DO NOT need to own or play a Telecaster to attend this camp! Gibsons, Strats, Epiphones, and all the rest are welcome. Our focus is on music, not a single instrument, and, in fact, all of our teachers own many different kinds of guitars. Our concerts and classes will speak to you no matter what axe you own, and where you come from musically.

This camp is a collaborative effort, designed by Jim Weider and Joel Harrison in association with Music Masters Collective.  Between the two of them they’ve about seen and done it all. The Telecaster is our starting point—the infinity of modern American guitar is our destination.

We look forward to seeing you at camp!
